World Sindhi Topi, Ajrak Day celebrated on Sunday

KARACHI: The first World Sindi Topi {cap} Day was observed on Sunday throughout the world including Pakistan.
Various political parties, civil societies and organizations have supported the first ever day. The Muttaheda Qaumi Movement and the Awami National Party have also decided to observe the day of Sindhi topi and Ajrak.
Several rallies were held even on Saturday in various cities of Sindh to welcome the day.
Thousands of people reached outside the Karachi Press Club Saturday night where Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza, Sindh Information Minister Shazia Atta Marree and other leaders of various parties including ANP leader Shahi Syed reached. Different rallies from various parts of the city including, Lyari, Keamari, Malir and Khokhrapar joined mass gathering outside the KPC. Women and children wearing traditional Sindi dresses, white suit with Sindhi Topi and Ajrak, lit the candles and danced on the folk songs.
The business of topi and ajrak reached at peak when the government announced December 06 as the Sindhi Topi Day.
This day is also being observed in India, UK, America, Australia and other parts of the world. SAMAA
