OGRA fixes CNG prices 1st time

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regularity Authority (OGRA) has issued its first ever notification with changes in the prices of CNG under new powers granted by the federal government.

A reduction of 27 paisas per kg is in effect in the NWFP and Balochistan and there has been an increase of 60 paisas in Sindh and the Punjab, the notification said.

The new CNG prices in the NWFP, Balochistan and Potohar is Rs 49.73 and the new price for Sindh and Punjab is Rs 48.54 per kg.

The new prices come into effect from August 1, or Saturday. Prior to this OGRA had to recommend price changes to the Ministry of Petroleum that had to get the Ministry of Finance’s approval. As a result Pakistan’s prices did not move in accordance with international prices.
